RAJASTHAN, INDIA GALLERY
September, 2007
At the north western edge of India, along the Pakistani border, lies the fantastically colorful desert state of Rajasthan.  In particular, this
gallery showcases Jaipur (the so-called Pink City), Jodhpur (The Blue City), Jaisalmer (a living, inhabited fort city) and the Thar Desert.

If you have never ridden through the desert on the back of a camel, I highly recommend it.  There is a quality about the experience that
is unexpectedly meditative.  As you sway with the saunter of your camel out into the empty sand and sun, the rest of the world falls away.

Twice now have I been graced with the opportunity to take one of these treks, though the first time, I had to be coerced by my friends
into what I thought was an overrated tourist trend.  I'm glad I was wrong.

Additional images from Rajasthan (2005) can be found in the
North India Gallery.
